Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping Technique)

Rising Light Counselling is trained to offer therapy using the emotional freedom technique, more commonly known as the tapping technique.  This approach aims to relax the nervous system by tapping with fingertips on specific meridian points of the hands, head, and upper body, while simultaneously engaging in talk therapy or affirmations.

It is sometimes likened to a form of emotional acupuncture (no needles!) which aids in releasing repressed stories and emotions.  It is commonly used in the treatment of anxiety, depression and trauma.  Among the great benefits of emotional freedom technique is that the client can engage in the exercise at home between sessions making it very accessible when and where needed.
